During the Spring Moot of 1114 the Tarantula Nation lost Lord Oromath, Senior Advisor to Val'sharess Ginafae Karrash-Morr.

On the Saturday evening a being entered the camp looking for Oromath and declared that he was "Doomed to Die", with a single blow Lord Oromath fell to the ground. Our healers determined that he was suffering Fatal pattern corruption, despite his usual strength against such attacks. However the cures for such damage had no effect, even the highest tiers of healing magics had no effect.

Martius of the Death Guard was able to examine his pattern and the damage very closely and determined that his body required Shielding from Corruption prior to any healing being effective. Unfortunately by the time this was applied, Lord Oromath was already dead. Several members of the faction were maintaining an Incantors Chant of Sanctuary, however the magic used in this attack was so great that it appears it had little, if any, effect.

Ilharess Kerithrion performed his Dedication to Lolth prior to his remains being taken to the Cave of Whispers by the Order of Lolth.

Information later gathered from the Guilds and other factions has led us to believe that this attack was a curse known as "Doom", and the attack was orchestrated by the being that is at least known as Maar the Faceless. As of yet I do not believe we know what provoked such a targeted attack.

Should anyone learn any more about this attack, please inform the faction as soon as possible.

I'm not one for sentimental words, but for action. It does not matter if this was Maar the Faceless or another, the faction needs to know what kind of knife we need and where we need to stick it, in order to avenge the death of Lord Oromath.
