So this is the short simple version, and will only tell you how to recognise them. If you have the skills to deal with a pillar yourself, I would suggest reading the full translation

{tabs First Rune}

Top (1st) Rune - Strength of Pillar

This first set denotes the strength. In ascending order from left to right.

 {tabs Second Rune}

Middle (2nd) Rune - Power required to kill it

The next runes denote the type. There are four pairs for each summoning magic, the first rune is the simpler form of magic whilst the second is more complex.

Unliving

Must be healed, deal with it within 10 minutes or it escalates in power. Tarantula Healers know how to deal with this pillar.

Ancestral

Must be dismissed by Incantors

Demonic

The power must be drained, Warlocks are able to do this.

Elemental

Must be controlled by an Elementalist.

 {tabs Third Rune}

Lower (3rd) Rune - 'Other Effects'

Denotes any additional effects. Honestly, we don't know much more than the translation, so best of luck.

 Explosive, magical damage - not very powerful

 Translocation

 Transfer of information

 Shapes earth into supporting structures

 Augmentation of Golems

 Cycle of energy

 Transfer of energy

Extremely dangerous. Really. Have a healer about 31ft away, in a sprint pose. Has been seen to reverse channelling effects upon pillars expiration, rending the pattern of the healer involved in destroying the pillar, amongst other possible effects.

Note: Teleportation

Some pillars have demonstrated an ability to transport objects/people who are not of the Guardians forces away when carried by this minions. Avoid leaving unconscious bodies by the pillar if at all possible.
