With the recent violations made by the “Tarantulas”, we felt it was a good time to revisit an important part of our history by telling the story that made us who we are.

In the earliest days of the second founding, House Kenafin was a struggling minor household - and was losing ground to more powerful and violent enemies. In an attempt to bolster our power, the ritualists of House Kenafin studied for many years to learn the secrets to summon a powerful ally.

They outdid any and all expectations, as they were able to summon the mighty Lord K’Hafran. The great demon lord held dominion over all, but he saw our worth, he saw our potential. So he agreed to help us, improve us, and make us into a force to be reckoned with. After many decades of research, the ritualists devised an answer. A union of power, by means of a powerful ritual they developed a means for Lord K’hafran to breed with the mortals of House Kenafin. The first result of this work, was our beloved Empress Sarya Kenafin.

As is well known, from her very earliest days Sarya Kenafin displayed extraordinary magical prowess in both spellcraft and ritual works. Her demonic heritage gifting her a natural affinity in the arts. Sadly the ritual that allowed for the conception of Sarya could not be repeated, however that did not matter to many. Sarya was remarkable, and none doted on her quite as much as her father.

In the year 354sf, Sarya Kenafin rose to power as the leader of House Kenafin, following the unfortunate death of her mother. A lot fell on the shoulders of the young Ilharess that day, most importantly - the fate of House Kenafin.

As the empress grew in age, many wondered if she would be able to continue the House Kenafin bloodline. It would seem her demonic heritage gained from her father, meant her children inherited many of the unique abilities she had herself. Not to mention increases in strength and intellect. The Underdark did not take this news gladly. They saw the children as an affront to their perceived purity and power. So they sent the monstrous Paladin Army against House Kenafin. Fearing the power that House Kenafin had gained, the demonfey children were taken and conscripted to serve the Underdark’s armies.

For years our imprisoned forces fought their wars, and they did so admirably. The Underdark was impressed by the natural abilities at wielding magic, and more so by their means of combining magical effects to truly devastate the enemy. Yet despite the power, and loyalty that the demonfey showed, the Underdark and Paladin Army still feared the Demonfey. They feared the unwavering loyalty that they held towards their empress and patron.

This was when the Underdark unleashed their true colours. Through deceptions and subterfuge, they engineered a way to secret Lord K’hafran away from House Kenafin. For several decades nobody knew for sure what had happened to Lord K’Hafran, he had simply disappeared.

After being missing for nearly a century, Calistra Kenafin sought to call on him using the power of Incantation. To everyone’s surprise, he answered and returned to us. Calistra was praised for being able to restore him to power with us. Lord K’Hafran explained that they had imprisoned him, and that the forces of the Underdark could not be trusted. By his order, we began hoarding our power.

Quietly our forces were brought back to Trentarus, so the breeding of Demonfey could continue. They returned with weapons and relics that our forces could use to bolster our armouries and strongholds.

It wasn’t long until the Great Purge began, destroying all those who refused to follow Lolth. This war ravaged the Underdark, no household was left unharmed.

This was our chance to break the chains that held us in servitude. We took our opportunity and rebelled.

For 18 years we saw glorious freedom. Eventually the Paladin Army was able to recover, and were able to push our forces back to Trentarus. This is when they performed their vile rituals to imprison us, under our very own homes.

Whilst Lord K’hafran managed to escape that initial assault, the Paladin forces soon caught up with our beloved Lord K’Hafran. Using ritual magic, they bound his demonic form to his body, and then tore him apart, limb from limb.

Now, we aim to recover the body of Lord K’Khafran and return him to power, and his rightful position as our patron.
