During the Moot of 1111 Neralet, a librarian of The Great Library at Norhault, brought us an ancient diary he had found hidden within the libraries. However they were buried in the deepest libraries and he was forbidden from removing them.

Lorr-ann Rea'Morda foresaw his coming, however she also saw Neralet death. With the help of the faction, we managed to arrange protection for him and his life was saved, along with the knowledge he had recovered. Unfortunately he was cast out of the library and his staff, binding him to knowledge was broken. Without it he felt he had no cause or home, perhaps death would have been a kinder of fate. I include this mention as during an expedition in early 1112 Neralet was killed by forces of The Guardian. He gave up his home, his position, and ultimately his life. His assistance and the sacrifices he made should not be forgotten.

The diary he brought us, was that of Tirthonima. Scribe, advisor and concubine to Lualyrr Kerithrion, you may know him as the Ancestor associated with Law within the pantheon. Her writings were extensive and covered many of the plights that struck the Dark Elves during the early years. I hope that in years to come the details she noted will be shared among the nation, but for now I shall convey the details relating to the current threat of The Guardian.

His true name was Ka'ruil Na-sar Ayvandaar and he plagued the Underdark for hundreds of years, laying siege to towns and cities and swaying the minds of those within. His deamons speaking promises of salvation and the future.

As a first born Elf he was a master spellweaver and a renowned explorer, and following the Elves initial plight of time as well as the death of Lothiriel, he began to search for a cure. His search led him deep into the Underdark, long before our empire was built. He searched further and deeper then we ever went, far into the deep dark where after years of searching he performed the ritual of gazing Lothiriel had performed so many years before.

Now something went wrong, as he started the ritual the ground shook and broke, and scattered his ritual team across the land. He witnessed a smoked claw reaching out to grab him, then disappearing. He took this as a sign that the birth of Incantation was a mistake, the great mistake. He then sought to undo the mistake, destroying the Ancestral plane and thus removing the protection they offer to Erdreja.

He learnt how to use Gorathi Runes of power to strip an archon of its power, making it mortal and such susceptible to death. His plan was to keep killing the archons to wound the Ancestors, to correct the great mistake of Incantation. He targeted the entire pantheon, no Ancestor would be safe.

A plan was hatched to kill him, 200 of the finest warriors were trained hard, given the best armour and weapons, gifted with the strongest magic and wards. Then on the eve of battle the Commanders were possessed with archons and avatars. They were from all the pantheon - the entire pantheon (as it stood then), they warned against killing him. The pantheon knew his followers in the deep dark would make him strong enough to destroy the Ancestors and with his power of true magic, the entire plane.

Banlaethor Aryvandaar was the first to recognise him, and devised a powerful ritual that could summon him through the void, however it would require a connection to him. The blood of his lineage would be required, and for this Banlethor sacrificed his life.

The next step was to imprison him. After many days an idea was formed, a prison was built that could contain him and bind him. The magical wards designed to contain him used the four magics of creation.

- The first ward was made of Unlife, designed to prevent his pattern passing to the planes of death and ensuring he would not die.
- The second of Magic, this ward drained his ability to cast true magic and protected the prison from magic.
- The third was of Faith. This hid the Ancestors and the Ancestral plane from him, protecting it from him.
- The last was Elemental, protecting it from the effects of the great weaves of creation.

Whilst trapped in this prison he was confident that his release would come, that his imprisonment was only a set back. He was that confident that his aims could not be stopped, that he hid nothing. He answered every question, gave up all the information that was asked of him. Sadly aside from the details within the diary, most of this information was lost during the Ritual of Forgetting.

Eilistraee was the one who petitioned the Ritual of Forgetting, scared of what the knowledge could do. It seemed the council was divided fairly evenly until Kiransalee was betrayed and killed. Once the support of her replacement was given, many others followed suit fearful for their own lives.
