Early Elven Timeline & Known Journeys of Forbeo Faerondarl

 

11 FF Elven explorers set out on Clan Keltormiir ships to map the world. Forbeo and Gynafiir are among their number.

12FF The construction of Asu’a begins under the direction of Nerdanel Mistrivven.

13FF The borders of the clan lands are agreed in the white council. Each of the areas is given the name of its ruling house. Using Forbeo's knowledge of the lands, a formal map outlining the clan’s borders is created.

Under the auspices of Clan Mistrivven, formal ties are forged with the Dwarves of the North and an exchange of ambassadors is begun.

17FF Ineluki cedes his northern territories to the Dwarves in exchange for free access to the Dwarven forges. He devotes a small amount of time to studying at the forge, before realising that even under the tutelage of the Dwarves, it is not his forte.

18FF Mizzeriel Mistrivven and Haleth Eclavadraar begin studying under the Dwarves.

20FF Elven explorers return from their first overseas voyage.

24FF Introduction of currency to the Elves by the Dwarves of the North. At first its use is mainly restricted to the growing trade with the Dwarves.

26FF Forbeo visits Ineluki, who arranges for him a tour of Dwarven lands. Forbeo spends eight years travelling around their lands, learning of their culture.

32FF Lothiriel Cancarneyar becomes the first non-Elemental dragon to use true magic.

36FF Whilst out travelling Forbeo spots glints of a shiny metal in the bed of a fast flowing stream. Understanding all too well the Dwarves love of shiny & rare metals, he devotes several weeks to developing a technique for separating the shiny metal from the river bed dirt.

37FF Metal working becomes widespread in Elven lands as Dwarven trained smiths set up their own forges.

38FF Forbeo arranges for a newly trained smith to smelt his golden crumbs into a beautiful golden ingot. There is enough for two ingots. He arranges for one ingot to be gifted via Ineluki to the dwarves, in thanks for their hospitality. They are delighted with the gift and pester Ineluki for information about its origins. Forbeo keeps his second ingot.

45FF Sea trade between the Fey and the Elves of clan Keltormiir begins. Forbeo accompanies one of the earliest voyages.

46FF Forbeo starts a collection of items he has acquired on his travels. It includes a large unhatched egg he found on his first voyage, a smithing hammer, tankard and large gem that were gifts from the dwarves, a dream catcher from the Fey and his ingot of shiny metal. A visit to his growing collection of keepsakes becomes a highlight of any trip to Clan Faerondarl.

50FF His two trips aboard the vessels of Clan Keltormiir, convince Forbeo of the value of ships. He convinces the clans of the Aquillari follow the lead of Clan Keltormiir and begin to build ships of their own

51FF Telperion Kerithrion uses ritual magic to create the Crown of Lothiriel with the aid of the Fey Satuun. Lothiriel jokes with Ineluki, that if she has to wear a crown, then her twin should have one too.

53FF The Dwarf Duron Egarion Ashencraft sends a messenger to Forbeo to inform him of a secret project on behalf of Lothiriel and inquiring about the possibility of obtaining his golden ingot. Forbeo agrees and parts with the second ingot, but his price is for Schandalun to be taken on as his apprentice. Schandalun spends 30 years studying with the dwarves of the north and at the end is honoured, when they acknowledge him as their equal.

The Aquillari vessels set off on their maiden voyage of exploration with Forbeo and Gynafiir on board. They retrace the route of the second Keltormiir voyage circumnavigating Erdreja.

54FF Duron Egarion Ashencraft delivers a masterfully worked crown to Lothiriel. She and Larethian Thuleandor, use her love of her twin to ritually imbue the crown in the circle to boost Ineluki’s strengths and talents and temper his weaknesses.

55FF Lolthiriel presents the crown to Ineluki as a birthday gift.

56FF As Lothiriel knew he would, Ineluki recognises the power in her gift. He is seldom seen without it thereafter. Ineluki realises that the gift is more than his sister’s work and he makes inquiries among the dwarves after the master craftsman, who made his crown. Eventually he is introduced to Duron Egarion Ashencraft. Acknowledging him as an equal in a different field, they quickly strike up a firm friendship.

60FF Forbeo argues the case in front of the council for building a network of roads connecting the growing Elven towns. The vote is carried unanimously.

69FF The restorative powers of various plants and herbs become known as the search for a cure to the aging malady are sought. Alchemy begins to be practiced widely after its introduction from the Dwarves.

73FF The rudiments of Healing magic are discovered as the Elves continue to try and find a cure for aging. Many Fey and Dwarves travel to Morias to study at its library, which has become the single largest depository of knowledge on Erdreja.

74FF Ineluki Mistrivven masters true magic. Tuor Kerithrion creates the first magical item that channels powers from the planes of life with the aid of the Fey Satuun.

75FF Satuun notices the power of Ineluki’s crown. He approaches him to ask if he would craft a second for him. Ineluki responds that it is not his work.

79FF Ineluki signs an agreement with the Dwarves of the North to build a road between Clan Mistrivven lands and the Dwarven kingdom. It is expected to act as the main gateway for trade between the two peoples.

82FF Forbeo undertakes a grand tour of the new Elven road network, creating a map and visiting each of the Elven towns. Gynafiir comments that he is never happier than when he is on the road.

86FF Satuun finally finds out who made Ineluki’s crown and makes contact with Duron Egarion Ashencraft with a request to commission a crown for himself. Duron refuses because gold is the metal of Elves and Satuun is not an Elf, besides Lothiriel supplied the gold.

87FF Forbeo and Gynafiir have a daughter, Altania Faerondarl, named after the small village where she was born.

91FF Satuun attempts to acquire more gold from Forbeo, who indicates he doesn’t have any more. He passes Satuun a copy of his notes detailing the location, where he found the gold.

92FF The first edition Elven road map is published by Forbeo.

100FF Ineluki Mistrivven combines true magic and ritual magic to forge his personal armour.

112FF Satuun dares Vhaerun to steal Ineluki’s crown. Vhaerun declines and informs Ineluki. Satuun absents himself from Morias shortly afterwards.

263FF Forbeo locates his collection to a museum within Morias.

924FF Satuun returns to Morias. He has heard of the Baelnorn and is fascinated by them. He devotes considerable time and attention to the study of this new form of life.

961FF Satuun notices Yuriel Aryanwyn’s dislike of Ineluki and slowly starts to nurture it.

990FF Battle of Therman. In the first major confrontation with Lyanders forces the Illythiiri suffer a heavy defeat when a third of them fall prey to the mind control of Lyander. Telemnar Kerithrion is killed in the disaster alongside Nerwen Mistrivven. Only Forbeo’s maps of his land and his local knowledge turn the rout into merely a heavy defeat.

991FF Battle of Faeren. In a desperate attempt to stop all of Faerondarl falling to Lyander, the Illythiiri alongside the hastily recruited forces of the Aquillari meet Lyander in battle. Forbeo’s maps provide an advantage, but the battle still ends in defeat for the Elven forces as Lyander unleashes never before seen living constructs onto them. The Illythiiri lose Amroth and Amras Cancarneyar in the battle.

992FF Lothiriel persuades Ergosal Eclavadraar to take command of the Elven forces as support begins to arrive from the other Elven clans. Ergosal approaches Forbeo to act as an advisor to his scouts, supplying them with knowledge and maps.

She also arranges for a large number of healers from the House of Light to be dispatched to support the Elven armies; amongst their number is Ashryn Nimesin.

997FF Satuun approaches Yuriel Aryanwayn about acquiring Ineluki’s crown. Yuriel weighs the offer for a short period before declining.

1006FF Ineluki and Ergosal lead Elven forces back into Aquillari lands as they keep up the pressure on Lyander. Lothiriel convinces the Ologs to help against Lyander.

1007FF Ologs arrive to bolster the Elven forces along with the Elves of Aryvandaar who have returned from their explorations.

1008FF Ineluki and Ergosal risk a pitched battle with Lyander at Platania. The battle descends into a bloody stalemate with horrific casualties on both sides. Saelith Taurenean is killed.

1009FF The Elven clans are now producing weapons and armour at a massive rate, combined with the Dwarves of the North they can equip massive forces. Ineluki’s position as one of the leading Elven general’s is instrumental in securing the Dwarves support. Lyander releases diseased cultists into the Elven ranks forcing a general Elven retreat.

1021FF Forbeo undertakes a tour of the lands damaged by the war against Lyander. Upon his return, he makes a plea to the white council for aid in resettling and rebuilding the damaged lands. He also acquires a broken child’s toy from the ruins in Platania and a broken shield from the battle of Narine. These become a key items in his collection, as a memorial to the futility of war.

1025FF The leaders of five of the six bloodlines descend into the earth under the major ritual circle of Morias. Four emerge changed by their experience, the fifth; Lothiriel dies at the hand of Satuun. His dagger breaks within the wound and corrupts the elven queen. It will be some time before the involvement of Satuun is uncovered. The Miyeritari refuse to participate in the ritual. Lothiriel thwarts Satuun by creating the plane of ancestors with the gift of the Dragon. Ineluki is devastated by the loss of his sister and retreats with his wife Kadriel to Asu’a. Saidelia is sent by her father to represent the clan on the white council.

1052FF Ineluki, Shaol and Utuk’ku undergo the gazing ritual.

1108FF Shoal Mistrivven concludes that Lothiriel is not dead, but has been transformed into a being almost as powerful as Erdreja itself. He starts to write and experiment with rituals and rites that allow him to speak with Lothiriel herself. These rites become the basis of many the Illythiiri clan’s cultures.

1145FF Ineluki becomes increasingly withdrawn and unapproachable. Clan Mistrivven begin to suffer from a lack of leadership. Many turn to veneration of the ancestors and the use of incantation spreads within the clan. In his rare appearances Ineluki shows an increasing disdain for non-elves.

1170FF Ineluki’s disdain for non-elves excludes Duron Egarion Ashencraft and when the dwarf visits, he and Ineluki often send hours sequestered in Ineluki’s private chamber or busy in one of Asu’a’s many workshops.

1850FF Sethormiir convinces the Illythiiri rulers that the other elves are secretly plotting against them. The elves of the north begin to arm in secret. Magical weapons and armour are crafted in secret and remote areas of the north. Shaol begins to suspect that more than politics are involved in rising tensions.

1860FF Ineluki informs the Dwarf Duron Egarion Ashencraft of the plot against the Illythiiri by the other Elves. He sends Kadriel to accompany him back to the Dwarves of the North and to seek their support in any future war.

1862FF The mission returns unsuccessful. Kadriel is unable to convince the Dwarves of the North of the threat and whilst the Dwarves are willing to commit to treaties of friendship and trade with the Illythiiri and especially Clan Mistrivven, they are not prepared to risk the wrath of the greater portion of the white council. Duron Egarion Ashencraft is furious at this decision.

1863FF Duron Egarion Ashencraft travels at the first opportunity to Asu’a, where he pledges his Clan’s support to Clan Mistrivven.

1885FF Elves of the Lythari convince the council to overturn its decision after an impassioned plea by Kadriel Mistrivven. A delegation is despatched to the Illythiiri and Miyeritari led by Kadriel herself. The delegation are ambushed on the way north by corrupt mages who follow Maediir. Upon hearing of the massacre of his wife and the other diplomats, Ineluki demands retribution. The Illythiiri answer the call and begin to plot their revenge. Utuk’ku manages to secure the involvement and full support of the Miyeritari. Shoal survives the ambush and carries word to his father.

1886FF Ineluki summons Forbeo to Asu'a, to accuse him of leading the Lythari forces to the ambush that killed his wife. Forbeo pleads his ignorance, and Ineluki settles on banishing Forbeo from all of Clan Mistrivven lands. It is the last time the two friends would ever speak

2003FF Ineluki forms the ritual team that will become known as the “Red Hand”. This team is made up of the greatest ritualists in all Illythiiri lands. Its members are drawn mainly from house Sutek of clan Mistrivven. Ineluki becomes ever more withdrawn and is soon only listening to advice from the red hand. He even begins to ignore his own children. Unknown to Ineluki is the fact that one of the red hands is an agent of Satuun.

2059FF Amilthara Faerondarl, Renestrae Faerondarl, Luthais Valandor and Elion Palanthiir depart for the lands of the Ologs on a journey of exploration. Forbeo also travels with them, but does not return with the group & is not seen or heard from for many centuries.

2061FF Rebels become known as “dark elves”. Elven white council finally decides to prosecute the war to its full extent. Larethian Thuleandor finally chooses a side in the conflict. To many elves surprise he chooses to side against the Illythiiri and brings the Lythari into the war. Ineluki is enraged by this act that he sees as treason from his brother in law. Ineluki decrees that clan Mistrivven will not rest until this betrayal is atoned for. Shoal brings his rage under control after the massacre of Almrahel, the decision of Larethian makes shoal suspect that there is more to this war than he first perceived. The Dwarves of the North pledge neutrality in the conflict.
